Big B launches Om Puri’s Unlikely Hero

Om Puri’s controversial biography – Unlikely Hero written by his wife Nandita was unveiled by Amitabh Bachchan recently. The book reveals everything about Om’s life including his sexual encounters.
Om Puri was recently angry with his wife Nandita for highlighting only his sexual encounters in the book.
Talking about the controversy Nandita said, “The book is about Om, the man and the actor. Om has all the human foibles, just like all of us. He had sex as an adolescent with his maid and then he had a long liaison with the other lady who was also a maid. This was his way of coming out of his other relationships and demolishing class differences. If Om has any objection to her being called a maid he’s just being unrealistic.”

Salman Khan in 'Satte Pe Satta'

One can’t forget Salman Khan’s double role in laugh riot Judwaa. Now, his brother Sohail Khan wants to make a modern version of the cult comedy Satte Pe Satta and who better to step in Big B’s shoes than Salman Khan himself.

In the remake, Salman Khan will play the double role immortalized by the super-funny Amitabh Bachchan in the 1982 original version which was inspired by the Hollywood film ‘Seven Brides For Seven Brothers’. Sohail Khan is keen to produce the remake and is in the process of buying the film’s rights from the Sippys.

The buzz says that comedy king David Dhawan could direct the film. As for now, Sohail is unable to hide his excitement and is in a hurry to finalize things. In ‘Satte Pe Satta’ his bhai Salman Khan will play the hero Ravi and the brown-eyed antagonist Babu.

Since the movie is a multi-starrer, will Sohail Khan also join the league of seven brothers? Well, no. Sohail says he is happy to produce the film as it’s going to be a huge task to get so many actors and actresses for it. Sohail Khan is looking forward to sign friends from the industry to avoid hassles.

Preity-Rani VRS time ?Its scary how one religion (read: cricket) can impact another (read: Bollywood). As the cricket team goes through exciting re-invention, B-town seems to be taking stock of its A-list.

In recent years, they appear to be energetically turning their focus toward inducting and promoting young ‘uns.

To be sure, this is restricted to heroines. The lads, The Khans, Akshay, Suneil Shetty, Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgun, Jackie Shroff, and the Big B are off limits.
Why? C’mon, they’re heroes, baba! Not really, say trade analysts. They argue that while change is indeed in the air, the masses.

As the superstar of Bollywood, Big B, turned 67  on 11th October, he is rding high on success. The latest addition to his achievements is as the host of ‘Big Boss 3’ on the smaller screen. He will also be seen as a genie in his soon to be released ‘Aladin’.

Amitabh Bachchan was born to Hindi poet Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan. He started his career in Bollywood in 1969 and now in 2009 he has completed four decades of his life entertaining us.

On his retirement and career plans, Amitabh said, “I would disagree that actors of my age don’t get important roles to play in movies. Look at Dada Muni (Ashok Kumar)…he was an example. He kept doing important roles even till he was 80 years old. I can’t be playing the lover boy anymore. So I do all those roles that suit a 67-year-old.”

Last year, Big B had a very quiet birthday owing to his mother’s illness. This year he plans to spend his birthday with his family. He says, “I shall be with my family in the night to bring in my birthday. Abhishek and Aishwarya shall drive down from location to be with me.”

All the best wishes to the Shehenshah of Hindi Cinema from the team of Bollywood stars!!!
